In late May, Elisabeth and Kacper travelled to Japan, accompanied by colleges from the Kolisko Lab and supported by a Mobility Project Plus from the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. We had the opportunity to sample planktonic dinoflagellates from the Pacific Ocean, with great support from our collaborators – Yuji Inagaki and his group at Tsukuba University, Mitsunori Iwataki and his group from the University of Tokyo and the staff of the Shimoda Marine Research Center. Additionally, we held a workshop in phylogenomics for Tsukuba University students, and presented our recent results at a seminar at Hosei University in Tokyo!
